Kayak enthusiasts are well aware that the possibilities are endless when it comes to choosing kayak gear. However, as beginners, it is important to know what type of equipment you need to familiarise yourself with before hopping in the water!
If you're like me, you probably have a couple of roof bars fitted to your vehicle for carrying toys like kayaks or surfboards, but they're pretty useless when it comes to lugging around items that aren't long (or rigid) enough to sit comfortably over the gap between them. This is where dedicated full-length roof racks come in handy, but they can be prohibitively expensive, especially if you only need to use them occasionally.
Landing in Australia for the first time this Summer will be Yakima's new FullBack 3 bike rack (try saying that quickly 8 times in a row!). The beauty of the FullBack 3 is that it can be fitted to practically any shaped car on the market.
Having been a seriously keen off-road camper for years but having recently downsized my vehicle, it was easy to say "yes" when offered the chance to test a piece of equipment offering me more load space.
